Pepper Co., Inc. 181 South Franklin Avenue Suite 218 Valley Stream N.Y. 11581 RE: The tariff classification of a hair shaper blade from Japan. Dear Mr. Pepper: In your letter dated July 6, 1998 you requested a tariff classification. The sample a hair shaper blade style number 22B is made of stainless steel and is packaged five to a box. The blade fits into a razor that is used for shaping hair or shaving or cutting or shaping a beard. The applicable subheading for the hair shaper blade will be 8212.20.1000, Harmonized tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for Razors and razor blades (including razor blanks in strips), and base metal thereof: other. The rate of duty will be 0.01 cents + 0.4% ad valorem. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177). A copy of the ruling or the control number indicated above should be provided with the entry documents filed at the time this merchandise is imported.
