Dear Mr. Heck: In your letter dated August 12, 1997, you requested a tariff classification ruling. The rate of duty will be 1.6 percent ad valorem. The appropriate subheading for the Yamaha non-collapsible wooden keyboard stands, style numbers LW10 and LW11, will be 9403.60.8080, HTS, which provides for other wooden furniture, and dutiable at the rate of 1 percent ad valorem. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177). A copy of the ruling or the control number indicated above should be provided with the entry documents filed at the time this merchandise is imported.
