Box 3165 Harrisburg, PA 17105 RE: The tariff classification of a vinyl TV Duck Organizer from China. Dear Ms. Aldinger: In your letter dated July 17, 1997, you requested a tariff classification ruling. The sample that has been submitted with your ruling request, item number 972545, titled "TV Duck Organizer", is a vinyl-covered animal in the shape and color of a mallard duck with a polyester stuffing and a gravel-weighted bottom for increased stability. The item measures eleven inches in length by seven inches in height with a ten inch long two-pouch flap that is intended to house both a television remote control as well as a tv channel guide. The organizer can be placed on the arm of a chair for easy access by the television viewer. The applicable subheading for the TV Duck Organizer will be 3924.90.5500, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for other household articles...of plastics: other: other. The duty rate will be 3.4 percent ad valorem. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Section 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177). A copy of this ruling letter should be attached to the entry documents filed at the time this merchandise is imported.
