Dear Mr. Bacci: In your letter dated May 30, 1997, you requested a tariff classification ruling, on behalf of Paramount Wire Company, located in Brooklyn, NY. The items are described as 1) three steel stampings approximately 1 to 1 1/2" in length and 2) a multi-filament braided steel wire. The applicable subheading for the plain steel stampings will be 7326.90.8585, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for other articles of iron or steel, other. The duty rate will be 4% ad valorem. The applicable subheading for the braided steel wire will be 7312.10.3080, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for stranded wire of iron or steel: other: other. The duty rate will be 3.4% ad valorem. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177). A copy of this ruling or the control number indicated above should be provided with the entry documents filed at the time this merchandise is imported.
