Box 2036 Scranton, PA 18501-2036 RE: The country of origin marking requirements for needle files from Switzerland. Dear Ms. Pritchyk: In your letter dated July 20, 1993, you requested a ruling on the country of origin marking requirements for certain needle files. Your submitted samples will be returned to you as requested. The subject items are described as follows: a) 1 set of 6 Needle Files style #010942 - These 6 files are encased and will be sold in a plastic and vinyl fitted package. It is snapped closed. The manufacturer's name appears in the front and back of its container. Made in Switzerland is prominantly displayed in the back of the retail package. b) 1 box of 10 Hand Needle Files style 044138 - These 10 files will be sold in a cardboard box. The manufacturer's name appears prominantly on the container as well as the term made in Switzerland. The subject items will be imported and sold in the condition as your samples have been presented in this inquiry. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Section 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177). A copy of this ruling letter should be attached to the entry documents filed at the time this merchandise is imported. If the documents have been filed without a copy, this ruling should be brought to the attention of the Customs officer handling the transaction. Sincerely, Jean F.
