Corboy Austin Chemical Company, Inc. 9655 West Bryn Mawr Avenue Rosemont, Illinois 60018-5299 RE: The tariff classification of L-Serine methyl ester hydrochloride, CAS 5680-80-8 from Japan Dear Mr. Corboy: In your letter dated May 27, 1993, you requested a tariff classification ruling. The applicable HTS subheading for L-Serine Methyl ester hydrochloride will be 2922.50.5000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for amino-alcohol-phenols, amino-acid-phenols and other amino- compounds with oxygen functions. The duty rate will be 7.9 percent ad valorem. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Section 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177). A copy of this ruling letter should be attached to the entry documents filed at the time this merchandise is imported.
