Dear Mr. Voight: This classification decision under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS) is being issued in accordance with the provisions of Section 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177). DATE OF INQUIRY : April 25, 1990 DESCRIPTION OF MERCHANDISE : Models PM 4000P and PM 4000L hold quartz watch modules while the accuracy of the modules is being measured. The models are not capable of performing any testing operations on their own. Their power is derived from the watch test instruments (i.e. Q TEST 2200, Q Test 4100 and Q Test 5500) to which they are attached during the testing period. HTS PROVISION : Accessories for other instruments for measuring or checking electrical quantities HTS SUBHEADING : 9030.90.8000 RATE OF DUTY : 4.9% A copy of this ruling should be attached to the entry documents filed at the time this merchandise is imported.
