San Francisco, CA 94080 RE: The tariff classification of a ceramic salt and pepper shaker set from China. Dear Mr. Fong: In your letter dated March 24, 1995, on behalf of Institutional Financing Services, you requested a tariff classification ruling. Sample is being returned as requested. The sample submitted is a ceramic salt and pepper shaker set, item number 274, which consists of two mooses in a sitting position and wearing turtle neck sweaters. The applicable subheading for the ceramic moose salt and pepper shaker set, item number 274, will be 6912.00.4100, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for ceramic salt and pepper shaker sets, other than of porcelain or china. The rate of duty will be 5.2 percent ad valorem. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Section 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177). A copy of this ruling letter should be attached to the entry documents filed at the time this merchandise is imported.
