Box 447 Lansdale, PA 19446 RE: The country of origin marking of a complexion brush from Taiwan. Dear Mr. Terzian: In your letter dated July 14, 1994, you requested a country of origin marking ruling. The submitted sample is a complexion brush which will be imported in a plastic see-through display box. You have asked us if it would be acceptable to mark the outside back of the box "Made in Taiwan" instead of the brush itself. 19 CFR Subpart D, Exceptions to Marking Requirements, Section 134.32, General exceptions to marking requirements, indicates under (d)...Articles for which the marking of the containers will reasonably indicate the origin of the articles. Because the container in which the brush will be imported appears to be permanently sealed and the words "Made in Taiwan" are directly under the words "Lansdale, Pennsylvania" and are of the same size and color, we find this to be an acceptable method of marking this article. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Section 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177). - 2 - A copy of this ruling letter should be attached to the entry documents filed at the time this merchandise is imported.
